5 Day Mount Kenya Trek and Safari

• Morning:

  • Depart from Nairobi early morning (approx. 4-5 hours’ drive).
  • Arrive at Sirimon Gate (2,650m) for registration with Kenya Wildlife Service.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch before starting the trek.

• Afternoon:

  • Begin a 9km hike (3-4 hours) through lush forests, bamboo, and moorland.
  • Arrive at Old Moses Camp (3,300m) for an overnight stay.

• Evening:

  • Acclimatization walk around the camp.
  • Dinner and overnight rest.

Accommodation: Old Moses Camp

• Morning:

  • Early breakfast before setting off on a 14km trek.
  • The trail passes through Mackinder’s Valley with stunning views of peaks Batian and Nelion.

• Afternoon:

  • Arrive at Shipton’s Camp for a hot meal and rest.
  • Acclimatization walk around the camp.

• Evening:

  • Relax and prepare for summit night.

Accommodation: Shipton’s Camp

• Early Morning:

  • Wake up at 2:30 AM and start the summit push to Point Lenana (4,985m), taking 3-4 hours.
  • Reach the summit by sunrise for breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Rift Valley, and the Aberdare Ranges.

• Morning:

  • Descend to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast.
  • Continue descending to Sirimon Gate and exit the park.

• Afternoon:

  • Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy (approx. 2-hour drive).
  • Arrive at your luxury safari lodge for a well-deserved rest.

Accommodation: Sweetwaters Serena Camp / Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

• Morning Game Drive:

  • Explore Ol Pejeta, home to the last two Northern White Rhinos.
  • Spot the Big Five, chimpanzees, and endangered species.

• Afternoon:

  • Visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and the Endangered Species Enclosure.

• Evening:

  • Optional night game drive for nocturnal wildlife viewing.

Accommodation: Sweetwaters Serena Camp / Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

    • Final game drive or bush walk in Ol Pejeta.
    • Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before checking out.
  • Afternoon:
    • Drive back to Nairobi (approx. 4 hours).
